iDVRiDVR - Integrated Digital Video Recorder

Microbus introduces the optional iDVR feature to the Microbus M-PC2 vehicle computer.

As an extension to the wide range of features already supported by the M-PC2, iDVR records audio and video the hard disk in MPEG2 format. By using a dedicated video encoder there is no affect on the main CPU performance and therefore existing applications can run unaltered.

  • Easy to use DVD quality recording whilst in the vehicle
  • No backroom office software required
  • Continues to record audio and video while playing back
  • Timestamp indicents with easy retrieval
  • Adjustable start/stop times of timestamps
  • Timestamp storage to local disk, Flash Drive, or DVD
  • Full shift recording available for download
  • “Car too close” feature
  • iDVR does not affect the CPU’s performance

Ease Of Use

iDVROnce started, the application will record audio and video to the integrated M-PC2 hard disk until the application is stopped. This can be set to always start when the system turns on or may be used selectively.

Incident logging is simply activated by pressing the start button and then, by pressing the stop button, a timestamp is created. The incident may be reviewed and both the start and end time can be adjusted in 5 minute, 1 minute or 10 second steps with storage to local disk, Flash Drive, external hard drive or DVD.

The "Car too close" feature enables easy assessment that a car was within 0.5 seconds of the vehicle in front.

Certification and Installation

  • Included within the A&ES spec 5, issue 10 certification for the M-PC2
  • Only a single unit installation is required for full Vehicle PC capability and DVR
  • Reduced power consumption compared with separate Vehicle PC and DVR systems
  • 1 channel, full frame rate at DVD quality
